This is a truly exciting opportunity to join our innovative Pearson Online Learning Services (POLS) family! Working in partnership with universities across the UK, our division provides online learning services, including research, course content and development,marketing, student recruitment, training, and student progression and support. Our team is currently going through a period of unprecedented growth due to the popularity and demand for online learning courses.Sitting within the SEO & Organic Marketing team, this role is fully dedicated to improving organic performance across multiple higher education partnerships and education platforms. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in keyword research andanalysis, as well as a keen eye for SEO optimisation opportunities. You have a track record in achieving organic growth by improving on-page performance and content according to SEO best practice.The role will report into SEO & Organic Marketing Manager and work closely with Content and SEO strategist. This element on the role will require close collaboration with the Web & CRO team. You would also be responsible for assisting in building keyworddashboards, extracting, and analysing data from Google Analytics, Search Console and transform it into actionable insights.Your Key ResponsibilitiesResearch and planning:
  • To conduct keyword research, both long and short tail, for new programme launches as well as refreshes for existing programmes. This research will be used to form the basis of content strategies, on-page optimisation and position tracking dashboards.
  • To conduct initial media landscape analysis and competitor research to be included as part of keyword research docs when launching new programmes or producing new strategies for existing programmes.
  • Conduct on- and off-page SEO audits with additional focus on organic conversion.
  • To use findings from research and audit to contribute to the organic marketing roadmaps.
  • To analyse organic traffic, conversions and keyword ranking data, and provide analysis of results and suggested next steps for optimisation.
  • Produce keyword dashboards and regular reports on organic performance.
Technical SEO:
  • Monitor multiple microsites for technical SEO issues, such as indexing, loading speed, navigation, duplicate pages, canonical tags, URL structure etc.
  • Perform content gap analysis.
  • Feed into existing web development and A/B testing roadmaps.
Analysis
  • Analyse the performance data for each major optimisation tactic, track performance through the suitable metrics and report back on both positive and negative changes.
  • Take responsibility for position tracking dashboard updates and maintenance.
  • Report any highlights or concerns to SEO Manager as part of organic acquisition reports.
Youll also be responsible for:
  • Managing key internal stakeholder relationships, mainly between the Web & CRO Team, the Content Team and Partnership Marketing Managers.
  • Where required, to work with partners and external stakeholders when pitching new optimisation ideas.
  • To work in collaboration with the Research Team where applicable.
  • To explore new, innovative SEO tactics, content marketing and outreach
Our Successful CandidateWe welcome professional applicants with significant SEO experience agency or in house, along with in-depth understanding of SEO (particularly technical SEO), keyword research and content gap analysis. Youll bring knowledge of on- and off-page ranking factorsand optimisation techniques. It will be helpful to have working experience using Ahrefs, Keyword Planner, SEMRush or similar SEO and keyword analysis tools, along with Google Analytics, Data Studio and Search Console. This role is suitable for a team-player with demonstrable experience producing insights driven strategies, along with the ability to gather and analyse data from various sources, present and draw actionable insights from them.
