Job Description

c.£75,000 + 10% Bonus + BenefitsThe primary objective of the Senior Risk Manager is to assist the Chief Risk Officer in the delivery of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) within the business.In this capacity, the Senior Risk Manager will lead initiatives required in implementing an effective ERM system across the business. This will include comprising strategies, processes and reporting procedures necessary to identify, measure, monitor, manageand report on the risks facing the Company.The position requires an individual with a strong insurance, financial and accounting background. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with leaders across the business, insurance regulations and data analysis. The successful candidatewill require excellent knowledge of PRA regulations, strong written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to present ideas effectively to senior leadership.Key responsibilities include:

  • Assists the CRO to communicate the organisations ERM strategy and objectives
  • Leads the production of the Own Risk Solvency Assessments of the business
  • Leads the Scenario, Stress and Reverse Stress Testing process
  • Leads the Resolution and Recovery Planning process
  • Assists in the completion of the SFCR and RSR
  • Assists in the development and communication of risk management policies
  • Works with business units to establish, maintain and continuously improve risk management capabilities
  • Assists in appropriate risk reporting to the CRO, CEO, Executive Committee, Risk Committee, Board and senior management
  • Conducts enterprise-wide risk and control self-assessments and monitors priority risks across the organisation
The Person:
  • Degree educated and relevant accounting, insurance or risk management qualification preferred
  • Risk Management experience within a General Insurance related Company - preferably with good knowledge and understanding of ORSA and associated processes
  • Experience of working with business functions to improve Risk Management processes and promote cultural change
  • Knowledge of regulatory rules and guidance in relation to General Insurance, as well as other regulatory/legislative subject matter relevant to the industry such as data protection
