Senior Quantity SurveyorSalary: Up to £65,000 + car allowanceLocation: Leeds (hybrid & flexible hours) Ford & Stanley are currently partnered with one of the rail industry’s most exciting principal contractors. With over 40 years of railway operations experience, this company delivers a complete turnkey service, from heavy maintenance on rolling stock, trainpresentation and fuelling services, through to construction and delivery of depot build and remodelling schemes. There are 3 key areas of the business; (1) they own and operate their own depot including the maintenance of passenger trains, (2) they tenderand complete construction projects for a number of depots and stations across Yorkshire and the Northwest valued up to £11m, and (3), design management of large rail/infrastructure schemes, including the design of a £40m depot build. With several significantproject awards, they need an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the reigns of the construction business unit. The Senior Quantity Surveyor in the context of this business will be commercially responsible for a portfolio of rail/civils projects valuing from £10k through to £11m. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be an integral role within the wider project deliveryteams, responsible for liaising with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and site staff. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for subcontract management, contract negotiation, cost management, producing BOQs, cost planning and cost reporting. Key Criteria:Essential: Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity SurveyorEssential: Rail experience would be ideal; however, civils/NEC experience would suffice.Essential: Be able to commute to Leeds 2-3 days per week.Essential: Full UK Drivers Licence and own vehicle.Desirable: Degree educated.
