Job Description

  • Establish Commercial Calendar of all relevant dates such as, submission dates for project valuations, payment dates, retention dates, project completion dates
  • Establish accurate interim value (what we are truly entitled to because of the work completed) based on awareness of our scope, lots of site visits and constant communication
  • External application submitted - on time, accurately, robustly substantiated
  • Report & uploaded onto Microsoft forms with the Valuation and final date for payment and accurate MOS value whether it is paid by the client or not
  • Report uploaded onto Microsoft forms of the project performance which is compiled jointly by the PM and QS
  • Upon awareness of the suggestion (either verbally or by a PN) an underpayment maybe forthcoming this must be highlighted to the directors. It is essential that we challenge and reinforce our position, more so when we have already fully corroborated ourentitlement
  • Change Management - This is the single biggest task we must be alive to and constantly in touch with. It is the biggest thing that will impact on value and entitlement. We must use the tools, trackers, our colleagues, and initiative to ensure we are awareof our entitlement
  • Once completed valuations cannot be resubmitted, edited, or updated so it is essential we spend the time and effort necessary to ensure they are accurate and reflect all work we have undertaken, including additional or changing scope
Requirements:
  • A background in Civil Engineering/Groundworks
  • Strong communication both written and verbal
  • Developing client relationships
  • At least 5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Civils
  • Contract knowledge/awareness would be beneficial
  • Hard Working
  • Motivated and self-sufficient
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Punctual and good time keeping
  • A collaborative attitude towards working as a team
