Job Description

Senior Software Engineer - PythonFully remoteOur VisionOur EMIS X Analytics team are building a data analytics platform to help the NHS manage one of the richest healthcare datasets in the world. Currently housing nearly 50tb of data and able to query 1.5 billion rows of data every second, our platform is designedto unlock the potential of healthcare data to drive efficiency and deliver better care.EXA - "The most advanced primary care analytics capability weve ever seen" - CIO, Large NHS TrustYour new roleWere currently looking to recruit brilliant Software Engineers to help us deliver the best products within the healthtech industry.Our teams work in Python and SQL:

  • Get involved in all aspects of the development lifecycle including architecture, code reviews, testing and non-functionals, as well as cutting code.
  • Support with the enhancement of the product to add new features & improve functionality.
  • Collaborate with others across the business and work with the latest technology such as Python, SQL, AWS, Spark, Airflow and more.
  • Actively contribute to technical discussions and work towards to solutions to complex problems.
What youll bringThese are the skills and experience youll need to set yourself up for success in this role, however wed still love to talk to you even if you dont tick all of them:
  • Degree in Computer Science or similar or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience of coding in Python is essential for this role any experience with SQL or AWS would be highly beneficial as would any knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop or Pyspark
  • Able to demonstrate your desire to work within technology, were eager to see how you improve your skills outside of work
  • Youll be a team player, a collaborator and comfortable with remote working and most importantly youll take ownership and pride in the work that you deliver.
The team youll joinOur team is curious, driven, intelligent, pragmatic, collaborative, open-minded, but most importantly, we get things done. Weve got developers, Solution Architects, Technical Architects and Data Scientists and were geographically spread across the UK andIndia.The team mostly work from home (even in non-lockdown mode!) so this is an option which is open to you.
