Job AdvertAre you Tech and Digital expertAre you looking for an opportunityto providelegal advice at the cutting edge of an extremely competitive industry Do you desire to continue yourdevelopment andbroaden your legal expertise across all areas ofa retail businessAs a SeniorLegal Manager, you will partner with our commercial teams across the business to provide clear, straightforward legal advice to meet strategic goals and support supplier relationships. You will be actively encouraged to think innovatively aboutthe delivery of legal support, engage in horizon-scanning and provide key advisory on changes in the retail and consumer space.Your RoleThis position is a significant leadership role with full accountability to business partner Technology, George.com, Ecommerce and the Futures Technology transformation project providing legal strategic advice as well as the negotiation and delivery of GNFRcontracts (circa 281 instructions in 2021 which is understood to be due to significantly increase in 2022 and beyond as we move away from Walmart systems)

  • Managesan internal and external legal team
  • Accountable for the end-to-end legal advice for Technology, George.com, Ecommerce and the largest UK RetailTech transformation project including:-
  • Legal Counsel on how to best structure arrangements with external suppliers;
  • Negotiations and drafting of legal documentation tosupport those arrangements;
  • ContinuousImprovement and best in class technology contract counsel including where appropriate thedelivery of the legalself-service goals
  • Maintaining MI and one version of the truth Technologycontractsrepository
  • Driving transparency whilst focusing on key issues to enable the business to deliverat pace
  • Supportingcorporate governance for all Tech, George.com. E-commerce and the Futures Tech transformation project,
  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting,selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveragingthe capabilities ofnew and existing talent.
  • Partners with VPs, SDs and suppliers from Geroge.com, Ecommerce, Tech and Futures
About You
  • 8+ years experience of running a portfolio of contracts from professional services and resource to cloud-based agreements, software licenses agreements and software ownership, IP, software escrow, data security, SAAS,.
  • A track record of delivering contracts to project timelines
  • An inspirational leader with Experience in-service experience, team leadership, and change management.
  • Experience & Expertise in-service experience, team leadership and change management.
