Job Description

Senior Land & Planning Manager£63,883 per annum plus £2,000 Car AllowanceLeeds - AgileFixed term Contract / Secondment - 6-8 months maternity coverThe opportunityLooking to lead a Land and Planning team Look no further! We have a rare and fantastic opportunity for a Senior Land and Planning Manager role on a 6-8 months maternity cover contract!We are open for applications from candidates who are interested in working part-time or full-time!This is a role with meaning, so youll be coming in and making a real difference to thousands of customers lives by leading on our land acquisitions to meet our important growth strategy.Heres a couple of other things we think you should know:

Were transforming our business by investing in people, processes and technology to deliver a consistently great experience for our customers.What youll be doingYoull be driving the team forward to continue securing a strong land pipeline to ultimately meet our exciting growth strategy. Activities like securing land suitable for a range of tenures, monitoring development plans and pipelines to ensure targets aremet along with keeping the Director of Development regularly informed will all be key areas of responsibility.From an external perspective, youll be crucial in developing and maintaining regular contact with land owners along with leading on negotiating purchases with agents and owners. Also youll be working positively with Local Authorities. Internally, youllliaise with a really wide variety of stakeholders keeping teams up to date with progress and handover information to sales.This will be alongside effective programme management of the land, from a supply perspective, youll manage the s106 acquisition programme ensuring targets and financials are met along with required specifications, approvals and funder requirements. Allof which will be aligned with the Business Plan. On top of this youll actively pursue and secure land purchases for all tenure types, carrying out feasibility studies and making recommendations!When it comes to reporting, well need you to be comfortable preparing Directors and Board reports on new opportunities and also be able to present to the Development Committee when required.Sounds good Heres what we need from you
  • Plenty of experience in land buying for residential development of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Excellent understanding and experience in social and private sector housing development
  • Experience of managing people, land pipelines, budgets and achieving targets with those teams.
  • Experience of programme forecasting and financial forecasting.
  • Knowledge or Experience of negotiating and acquiring s106 affordable housing units
  • Youll have excellent communication and networking skills, good IT skills and outstanding negotiation skills
