Job Description

They think in our clients shoes, as part of a team - effective business people as well as efficient lawyers Our Requirements We are currently looking to appoint a Senior Manager to play a key role within our reputable and established financial regulation team. Working within a highly experienced team you will be involved in some of the largest regulatory advisory assignments across the financial services industry. With a reputation as one of the UKs specialist advisors across the breadth of consumer finance, banking and payments and due to continued demand for their services, we are looking to increase their headcount across the practice. Knowledge, skills and experience requiredThis is a client facing role and you will be a key member of the financial regulation team. The role will entail:

  • Providing technical advisory support to key clients such as Tier 1 banks in technical re-structuring, large mono-line card companies on implications of payment regulations, and concurrently support a significant number of clients across a range of day to day technical enquries,
  • Provide PRA and FCA authorisation support across the range of permissible authorisations
  • Undertake regulatory reviews for clients across various sectors of financial services
  • Participate in marketing, knowledge sharing and practice development
    • Using a wide variety of technical and sector-specific skills, you will engage on projects for clients in areas such as:
  • Assurance reviews in the regulated lending, banking and payments markets
  • Technical advice across the breadth of the Handbook
  • Review and recommendation of governance structures and board risk frameworks
  • Support of commercial teams in undertaking regulatory due diligence and supporting change in control applications
  • Advice of risk-based approach to a variety of regulatory requirements
  • Technical support on regulatory change such as PSD2 / SM&CR
  • Support of clients undergoing FCA investigations
  • Delivery of specific training and preparing clients for regulatory visits
  • Detailed technical documentation for reporting requirements and GABRIEL returns
  • Maintenance of sector knowledge to support ongoing client training and publications
  • Managing regulatory enquiries, skilled person reviews and enforcement action
  • Have a detailed understanding of the authorisation and supervision process of the FCA and PRA
    • The successful candidate will:
  • Be a confident individual who is able to quickly establish credibility with clients
  • Be self-motivated; someone who works on their own initiative to self-managed deadlines and supports colleagues in their work
  • Have strong influencing skills
  • Be open and collaborative approach
  • Have demonstrated ability of articulating complex and technical findings in both written and oral presentations for a variety of audiences
  • Have strong experience of article writing / presenting on technical topics
