Job Description

Looking for a dedicated Senior Buyer for an FMCG role, who can leverage their deep knowledge of the retail industry to procure high-quality consumer goods. The role requires an experienced professional who can efficiently manage suppliers and pricing strategies.Client DetailsThis organisation is a large-scale corporation in the FMCG industry. Based in Leeds, it prides itself on delivering top-quality consumer goods to a diverse and broad customer base. It maintains a strong presence in the retail sector and continues to expandits operations.Description

  • Manage and develop supplier relationships to ensure consistent supply of high-quality goods.
  • Develop strategic procurement policies and processes in line with company objectives.
  • Negotiate pricing strategies with suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Identify new product opportunities and work closely with the product development team.
  • Monitor market trends in the FMCG industry to inform purchasing strategies.
  • Oversee risk management within the supply chain.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and company regulations in all procurement activities.
ProfileA successful Senior Buyer should have:
  • Prior senior-level trading experience, preferably within the FMCG industry.
  • Prior experience in senior stakeholder management and leading high-level meetings.
  • Prior success in onboarding new suppliers and exclusive partners.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills and ability to discuss contractual agreements.
  • An understanding of market trends and the ability to apply this knowledge to buying strategies.
  • Able to work on-site 5 days per week and international travel during trade events.
  • Experience in homeware and DIY would be highly advantageous.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
