Established in 2006 PerfectHome is a household goods retailer that offers top quality products to customers through flexible weekly, fortnightly or monthly payment options.We are looking for a Senior BI Developer to join our Credit risk and analytics department. The role will be based in Leeds at our offices in Colton Mill.Reporting to the BI Manager the principal responsibility of the role is supporting the development, maintenance, and implementing of the data solutions for our expanding digital business.Maintaining and enhancing our new Data Lake capabilities while supporting the architecture design, configuration and delivery of data warehouse and Power BI services.Duties and Responsibilities:• Participate in the architecture design, configuration and delivery of data warehouse and Power BI services on a per project or tactical basis for all our internal departments.• Support the function in understanding the capabilities of the Azure/SQL Services Stack, BI and Insight Services.• Ensuring the data within the Data Lake remains up to date and in a usable format whilst creating new Data Warehouses for each department to ensure all aspects of data and reporting are met.• Working hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate value and driving success from demo to proof-of-concept to design and implementation.• Develop solutions to extract, load and transform data for end user consumption.• Assist with the design, development, and implementation of new BI reports.• Analyse current usage.• Follow and contribute to improving coding standard, development best practise and other team activities.• Support in the design of BI solutions to meet business opportunities.• Liaise with business partners to ensure timelines are maintained.• Attending teams calls with colleagues across the UK to discuss requirements and scope.• Support the creation of Azure SQL data warehouses.• Support the design, build and document ETL.• Develop own skills.• Carry out and support knowledge transfer to non-technical business partnersEssential skills, knowledge and experience:• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data warehouse solutions.• Data lake experience.• Existing BI development experience.• Strong SQL knowledge• Working knowledge of IT systems.• Strong communication skills.• Proficient with reporting tools and systems such as Power BI.• Adept with writing SQL queries.• Excellent ability to analyse and interpret data.• Workload management.• Ability to work to deadlines.• Written/Oral skills, analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.• Stakeholder management.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:• Strong academic qualifications with a focus of continuing professional development.• Experience of service delivery.• Previous experience manipulating large and complex databases, developing MI and delivering analysis.• MySQL and PostGres SQL.• Knowledge of SQL Server.• Experience using data connectors to private cloud data stores.• TalendBehavioural Competencies:• Strategic thinker with the ability to see/understand the big picture, develop new ideas and think through creative solutions• Dynamic, ambitious and able to work quickly to a high standard.• Ability to work effectively as an individual and part of a team, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical teams across multiple businesses, written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills• Able to quickly adapt to changing requirements and prioritiesBenefits:Contributory pension scheme25 days holiday entitlement, increasing with service to a maximum of 30 days (pro rata for part-time employees)Your birthday off, every year!Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Policies (subject to qualifying conditions)Company sick pay (subject to scheme rules)Gym membershipPerkboxPerkbox MedicalUK Healthcare Cash Plan Required skills
