Job Description

SEND Teaching Assistant - Leeds Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational NeedsAre you an ambitious and creative SEND Teaching Assistant looking for your next challenge within a forward-thinking Primary School based in Leeds.Are you an experienced Support worker looking to make the switch to educationWould you like to join a supportive staff team to assist build on your current skills and experienceAbout the role:You would be working 1:1 with a child who is working below the current standard levels. You would be expected to make sure the child would be on task within the classroom as well as run activities outside the classroom.The qualities required are for the role would be;

  • Experience working 1:1
  • Able to plan activities for a child
  • has a range of behavior management strategies for a challenging child
  • must of supported a child working out of year group-on P scales/progression steps
    • CONTRACT /POSITION DETAILS:Location - LeedsPosition - SEND Teaching AssistantStart date - 12/04/2021Duration / Likely Duration - PermanentEnd date (if applicable) -Full time/part-time - Full timeThe minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate of £60Hours - 8:30 - 15:30EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND QUALIFICATIONSPrevious experience of working with SEMH, Autism, ADHD would be desirableTeam Teach Qualification would be highly desirable - Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as Safeguarding training is provided)TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
