Job Description

Job Title: SEN Teacher (Primary)Location: Leeds LS14Contract Type: Full Time/Long TermStart Date: Sept 2023 – Oct 2023 (Half Term) (Temp to Perm)Pay Scale: 130-210 per day.Commutable Areas: Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate, and Wakefield.Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN) Do you have the skills and dedication to provide exceptional support and educational opportunities If so, we have an exciting opportunity foryou to join our team as an SEN Teacher working in a Pupil Referral Unit.Job Responsibilities: As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in the education and development of students with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEN.
  2. Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students and regularly monitoring their progress.
  3. Utilizing various teaching strategies and resources to support students learning, communication, and social skills development.
  4. Collaborating with other teachers, support staff, and parents/guardians to create a holistic and inclusive learning environment.
  5. Assessing students abilities, strengths, and challenges to provide appropriate interventions and adaptations to the curriculum.
  6. Promoting positive behavior management strategies and maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  7. Keeping accurate records of students progress, achievements, and any additional support provided.
  8. Attending and actively participating in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent/guardian conferences.
Qualifications and Requirements: To be considered for the role of SEN Teacher, you should possess the following qualifications and requirements:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification recognized in the UK.
  2. Specialization or experience in teaching students with special educational needs (SEN).
  3. Strong knowledge of SEN-specific teaching strategies, resources, and assessment methods.
  4. Experience of working in a PRU Beneficial
  5. Must have better understanding of core subjects such as English, Maths and Science.
