Job Description

Role:Sales Manager (North)Location:On the roadSchedule: Monday - FridaySalary:£39,500 - £45,000Job Type:Full time, PermanentRequirements: MUST have 3 yearsB2B Sales Experience. Applicants without this experience will not be considered.Please note: The successful candidate will have the opportunity to travel across the country for exhibitions as well as occasional travel abroad, so this must be something you are comfortable with.Job Role:We are currently working with a leading UK manufacturer looking to expand their team by on-boarding a new Sales Manager (North) to work alongside their established sales and marketing team, securing new business across the North of England.This is a fantastic opportunity for an established Sales Manager with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets within either the Broadcast, Power, Lighting, Sound or Events industry to take on an exciting new challenge within a highly establishedbusiness. If you enjoy building and maintaining relationships, travelling to meet clients/win new business and taking responsibility for your own time/workload, this may well be the opportunity for you!Sales Manager (North) Responsibilities:

  • Build excellent relationships with new and existing customers at a strategic level to optimise sales.
  • Identify and analyse accounts and product pricing within the market.
  • Work as part of field sales in conjunction with internal sales team.
  • Deliver personal sales targets and contribute to an overall company target.
  • Champion the development of new product lines to meet growth objectives.
  • Work with marketing to design new and eye-catching material.
  • Prepare quotations and technical solutions based on the customers needs.
  • Be responsible for own time and workload.
  • Keep the CRM software up to date with meetings/quotes/phone calls/discussions with clients.
  • Attend exhibitions and when required, stay overnight in order to represent the company.
  • Be responsible for increasing own product knowledge and identify the potential of new/innovative products that could be brought to the market.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Attend company Head Office when required.
Sales Manager (North) Essentials:
  • 5 A-C GCSEs including English and Maths.
  • Experience working in one of the following industries: Broadcasting, Power, Lighting, Sound, Events, Generators.
  • Some formal training in the sales arena.
  • Friendly and approachable with a professional appearance.
  • Ability to work independently as well as integrate efficiently with the surrounding team when required.
  • High standard of spoken and written English.
  • A great team player.
  • Ability to prioritise, plan and organise workloads whilst working within a very busy company and industry.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, driven and focused.
  • Happy to travel throughout the UK, to stay away often with the likelihood of travelling abroad occasionally.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial knowledge.
  • Key account management skills.
  • Ability to work to pressurised time frames.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High IT proficiency including Microsoft programmes.
Sales Manager (North) Desirables:
  • Any working knowledge of the power distribution market or the ability to use lighting desks, dimmers, motor controller or power distribution.
  • Experience managing own accounts.
  • Qualifications of an electrical background ideally BS7909, 18th Edition or testing and inspecting.
  • Knowledge of the entertainment industry.
Sales Manager (North) previous experience:
  • A proven track record as a successful member of a sales team (minimum 3 years experience).
  • Experience selling B2B and working in field sales (minimum 3 years experience).
