Job Description

Sales Director- Spend Management SoftwareMy client is a global software provider who help their customers to control and reduce their spend through source-to-pay processes, whilst increasing compliance and reducing risk. With over two decades in providing solutions that help their customers insourcing projects, contract management and procurement transactions to supplier collaboration and automated invoice processing.Joining at the point of a new and exciting growth chapter of the business, the UK Sales Director role is a critical and game-changing position for the right individual. Joining a lean and focussed senior leadership team and reporting directly to the UK MD,you will be singularly focussed on helping to ensure the sales team achieve revenue targets. You will do this leading by example while developing and mentoring the team, playing a key role to help increase sales growth.You will be highly professional with a systematic approach to driving sales and profitability with impressive experience of leading sales professionals. You will be a hands-on leader with an entrepreneurial, "can-do" spirit, ensuring the structured and optimisedmanagement of a team of solution-selling focussed sales professionals.Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership and manage the sales team to achieve targets by ensuring a professional, optimised sales approach, along with a focus on the short, medium, and long-term pipeline
  • Lead from the front, achieve the UK business targets and be hands on across the entire spectrum of sales workload for both direct and indirect channels, supporting individual sales activities
  • Line manage and agree objectives, structures, processes, and measures for each member of the sales team
  • Ensure a close working relationship between the sales department and marketing to ensure a clearly defined, optimised programme of activities, targeted to key sales audiences within defined sectors, while aligning campaigns and sales activities
  • Champion and support the continued use of the Solution Selling approach
  • Work closely with the UK Directors to ensure that all activities are continuously driving towards the goals of the UK Business in terms of revenue growth and retention
  • Ensure a highly structured and efficient sales approach, with up-to-date reports readily available on sales performance and pipeline
  • Provide feedback into the business of opportunity outcomes - collating prospect feedback and communicating this to the appropriate internal functions
  • Represent the company at senior client meetings and conferences, as required by the business, and internally within the group
Performance measures:
  • This is a target driven role aligned to the business strategy, including pipeline, new business, and cross-sell opportunities
  • Ability to demonstrate a holistic understanding of the value of Spend Management solutions to Procurement and Finance audiences
  • From a technological standpoint, ability to learn the core software platform capabilities and continuously embrace new functionality as it is made available, articulating both the core and ongoing enhancements to the optimum effect for customers
Skills & ExperienceExperience: Ability to demonstrate a proven sales pedigree with experience of generating recurring revenue in a SaaS model, measured by TCV including professional services and focussed on ARR. Ideally working with partners as well as directacross finance and/or procurement.Personality: Bold, competitive, and passionate to achieve revenue growth. A naturally trustworthy, self- motivated, results orientated team player with a positive outlook. Comfortable in dealing with people at all levels while being naturallyproactive with a can-do attitude.Business and Commercial Skills: Commercially experienced with the ability to take a lead role in negotiations, with excellent face to face and strong verbal skills.Sales and Management: Strong ability to close out deals with equally strong management skills. Experience in accurate sales forecasting and performance reporting, naturally inquisitive and keen to engage in dialogue to understand areas inmore depth. Ability to network within organisations to identify and engage with all key influencers and decision makers.Technical Skills: IT literate with the ability to use common software solutions such as Microsoft Office and Salesforce.Personal Situation: Able to travel to meet customers nationally when required and appropriate. Able to work effectively and to work extended hours on occasion when required.
