We support the bank’s prudential requirements such as capital and impairment allocation, capital optimisation and stress testing.We work with data that underpins vital business decisions, and together we make it possible to add customer value, control risk, and help to build a safe, strong bank for our customers.Youll find we promote a positive, collaborative and creative environment, and were genuine about equal opportunity and deeply value diversity - all with a culture built around advancing the best in our people.The role Working as part of the team, you’ll be coordinating and delivering significant improvements to the impairment estimation & Insight processes across Secured and Unsecured products:

  • Lead the change process by gathering requirements from our internal customers, prioritise these and follow to delivery, including the user acceptance testing activities.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the impairment parameters and estimations which feed into live IFRS9 impairment reporting
  • Act as a source of professional expertise to mitigate potential risks, and ensure systems, processes and controls are fit for purpose.
Using tools such as MERIT, SAS and Excel to manipulate and interrogate portfolio data, you’ll use your insight to interpret results and produce substantial recommendations to colleagues and management across a range of teams.We’ll also expect you to actively identify and pursue opportunities to maintain our models, simplify and enhance insight tools, and respond to changes in the portfolio.We’ll look for you to drive performance and inspire delivery through others by developing colleagues in the team with stretching objectives, feedback and coaching. You’ll also have opportunities to deputise for more senior colleagues.The person
  • Were looking for an organised and motivated individual who is passionate about data insights and can explain complex issues in simple terms.
  • Be able to work at a fast pace and have an eye for detail and accuracy. Youll have a highly analytical approach to problem solving and it would be desirable for you to have broad experience of credit risk issues, economic principles, forecasting and statisticalmethods.
  • Understanding of SAS/SQL/LeMans/MERIT is desirable.
  • Understanding of IFRS9 and modelling underpinning is desirable.
  • Excel and PowerPoint skills would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, without the need for close supervision. You’ll be a positive contributor to the team and take an active role in progressing your development, and the development of others.
  • Demonstrate good time management and planning/organisation skills, adapting to changing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences at all levels.
