Residential Lending Credit Risk Oversight Business PartnerWe have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Lending Credit Risk Oversight Business Partner to join the team. We pride ourselves on working collaboratively across all lines of defence to help YBS deliver real help with real life in a safe and responsibleway.Our Prudential Risk Team provide second line of defence oversight and challenge of YBS’s Prudential Risks, including Retail & Commercial Credit, Treasury, Funding & Liquidity, Capital, and Model Risk.About the RoleIn your role as Retail Lending Credit Risk Oversight Business Partner, you will be accountable for providing technical day to day challenge and guidance to shape key decision making on Retail Credit Risk related matters to support the Society’s Strategywhilst ensuring credit risk practices are operating efficiently and within the Society’s risk capabilities. You will be responsible for the review of the Society’s Retail Credit Risk positions to support early identification and assessment of emerging risks,escalating potential issues to the Group Lead - Prudential Risk, Chiefs and Board risk committee where appropriate.You will be responsible for ensuring that the policy framework and risk appetite with respect to Retail Credit Risk is appropriate, fair, consistent, and aligned with regulatory guidance. You will also ensure that the Prudential Risk Oversight plan capturesthe most critical elements of Retail Credit Risk management through the application of specialist expertise and environmental awareness, supported by a robust risk-based assessment approach.Partnering with key business stakeholders and divisions you will use your expertise to provide advice, guidance, and challenge on a range of complex issues across product design, portfolio management and collections & recoveries to name a few. You will providetechnical advice and insight to support the Retail Credit Risk thematic reviews produced by the Prudential Risk Assurance team. The role will require you to manage Director-level stakeholders who are accountable across the business for the Retail Lending activities.Working collaboratively with key business stakeholders and divisions you will drive the embedding of Credit Risk best practice in YBS and act as a key strategic advisor to enable the business to better understand and manage the associated risk profile.About YouYou must have experience within the retail (residential and BTL) lending sector and working within risk management.It would be good if you had experience of credit risk management through all stages of the account life cycle (underwriting, ongoing account management, collections, and recoveries)Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues verbally and translate technical concepts and facts into clear and understandable written reports for commercial and operational colleaguesBe comfortable working with data to provide new analytical insights and identify risk trendsGood awareness and understanding of the relevant regulatory environment and experience of applying in practice.About usAt YBS we don’t have shareholders, we have members.
