  • Design, implement, and successfully complete research processes - end to end project delivery
  • Manage and develop great client relationships
  • Develop and deliver powerful presentations and pitches
  • Lead on design of all research tools and reports
  • Write persuasive winning tenders and memorable, insightful reports
  • Develop new business through excellent contacts and networks
  • Manage small matrix-teams of junior and senior researchers
  • Support development and execution of the research strategy
  • Provide support and coaching to the research and support team
What makes a great Research ManagerEssential
  • Agency-side experience - that is, solid commercial experience in pricing, designing, and delivering research and consultancy projects to a range of clients to tight deadlines and budgets
  • Ability to organise, self-manage, and lead others
  • Qualitative and quantitative experience
  • Enthusiasm for research and delivery of great client outputs
  • Excellent written skills
Desirable
  • Membership of the MRS
  • Specialism in economics and labour markets
  • Statistical skills - e.g. experience of using SPSS/SNAP/R and undertaking multivariate statistical analysis including regression and experimental design
FundamentallyA mix of relevant experience, intelligence, enthusiasm, knowledge, persuasiveness, energy, resilience, and self-motivation.
