Job Description

UK Top 100 Leading Law firm has a fantastic new role for a Research Analyst based in their Leeds, Birmingham or Bristol offices with hybrid working in place.This is an exciting opportunity to support the national Knowledge & Information team in developing the next phase of the knowledge strategy. This role will work closely with the Research Manager, the Knowledge Business Partner and Director of Knowledge Managementand will support the continuing development of knowledge-based products to make the most of knowledge-sharing technologies.Duties may include:

  • Designing and implementation of planned research and horizon scanning activities;
  • Maintenance of content for regular updates for select client-facing knowledge portals
  • Supporting the Research manager with providing business research when required to support the Board Re-purposing research outputs including legal updates for multiple channels to support Market Focus Group plans
  • Using and developing the research and technology tool set to ensure that the research service operates efficiently and effectively.
Candidates should ideally have some experience in working with fee-earning professionals within the legal sector or in other professional services, with:
  • Previous experience providing legal and business research in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Provision of research to internal and external clients either on an ad hoc or project basis
  • Strong writing and technical skills, including the ability to abstract and summarise complex arguments
  • Numerical fluency and ability to present data in an effective fashion
  • Keen commercial awareness and interest
  • Excellent research skills and aptitude with expertise in the use of research databases such as FAME and Nexis
  • Strong technical skills (with previous experience of HighQ or other data visualisation products desirable) and a willingness to embrace new technologies including generative AI Self-starting and creative, with the ability to successfully build credibility
  • Ability to manage expectations and negotiate deadlines Strong organizational skills and ability to contribute to a positive working environment

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and across all levels of the business Being a collaborative team player who works with others effectively.
