We are working with a Large Government department who are looking to recruit a Technical Architect on a contract for an initial 6 months to start ASAP. You will provide hands-on technical leadership, in the development, operation and ongoing improvement of complex, transformational digital services serving millions of users; Work with product managers to understand user needs for new and existing services; Act as the technical authority in prospective, information gathering and scene setting meetings, evaluate technical proposals from external suppliers, and make implementation recommendations to senior stakeholders; Identify key API requirements for integration with internal and external systems; Lead development of user-driven prototypes to identify technical options and inform architectural approaches, working with colleagues and supplier team members to write tests, code and documentation for new and existing systems; Ensure system architectures are robust, scalable, open and secure, with appropriate overall system design and integration points/APIs, to deliver a high quality user experience.OverviewData for Planning and Research (GPDfPR) has a vision to provide a centralisedThe objectives of the GPDfPR project is to deliver a technical solution enabling System Suppliers to send data conforming to the Data schema daily to a central processing and ingestion pipeline operated within departments. This central data pipeline will process the data and merge it into a central data store, from which it will be possible to create data views to meet the requirements of researchers and planners to have access to this data where they have a legal basis to do so.The programme have a need for a TA to ensure GPSS development work conforms to the schema, functional and non-functional requirements of the GPDfPR programme, and to ensure the landed data is structured in a manner that is usable by Data Management Services to service data requests from customers.ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following key areas:• Ownership: Technical Architecture design for the GPDPR end-to-end solution• Ownership: Providing architecture oversight & direction to a number of delivery & product teams, ensuring alignment with Digital principles and the GPDPR Vision and roadmap• Contributing to: the ongoing maintenance and uplift of standards that form the basis of the GPDPR capabilities within the GPIT FrameworkEssential Knowledge, Skills and Experience• Applications & data focused architect with demonstrable experience of working successfully with varied development teams in a fast-paced environment• Experience of delivering high volume solutions• Experience of data pipelines• Experience of assuring supplier solutions• Excellent written and communication skills• Evidence of identifying and documenting functional and non-functional requirements for a projectAdvantageous• Experience of Clinical System data formats• Knowledge of NHS solutions• Experience of interoperability within Healthcare systems and associated standards (eg FHIR or HL7v3)• Knowledge of data privacy solutions (eg Privitar)• Knowledge of data lake solutions (eg Databricks)• Experience of working as an architect in an agile environment• Knowledge of and experience of using architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
