Job Description

Quantity SurveyorOur client Successfully working alongside companies such as; National Grid, Rolls Royce, Yorkshire Water, Welsh Water, Severn Trent Water, Environment Agency, United Utilities, Northumbrian Water and the Coal authority has allowed them to progress as a leaderin the construction and civil engineering sectors whilst developing and maintaining an excellent reputation with their clients.Our client is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.Job DescriptionWe have fantastic opportunities for Quantity Surveyors of all levels to join our client growing Commercial teams in Leeds. This role will play a vital part in the overall success of our busy Yorkshire Water framework. You will have the responsibility ofworking on our AMP7 programme with lots of opportunities to develop. You will be joining a growing team with a strong reputation in the UK Construction industry.Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure cost control is maintained throughout all functions (procurement, delivery, design)
  • Support the project manager in respect of project and commercial deliverables
  • Provide support and mentoring to the Assistant QS within respective Projects
  • Prepare subcontract tender packages, carry out comparisons and place relevant orders
  • Responsible for the management, collation, interpretation and analysis of project commercial records
  • Supporting the tendering process through all key milestones
  • Production of monthly cost & value forecasts
  • Provide sub-contractor management to Projects
  • Production of impact assessments, early warning and risk expenditure
  • Candidate Specification
  • Formal Q.S Qualification (HND or BSc)
  • Experience in a similar role from a civils or M&E background
  • Good level of QS experience
  • Water/Wastewater Experience - preferred but not essential
  • Flexibility to travel when required
  • Knowledge of NEC construction contracts
  • Experience in the procurement and financial management of Subcontracts
  • Strong IT skills with experience of databases and MS Office
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • A can-do attitude and enthusiasm to get the job done!
