Job Description

Quality Control Inspector, Raw Material Inspector, Quality Control, Permanent, Horsforth, LeedsQuality Control InspectorJob descriptionAn opportunity has arisen for a Quality Control Inspector to join a Compliance Team based in Horsforth, Leeds.They are a medical device manufacturer with over 30 years of experience in this field. Their mission is to provide high-performing medical devices for surgeons leading to improved clinical outcomes for patients, with a focus on sustainable instrumentation tomake a positive impact on the environment.The Quality Control Inspector will play a pivotal role within the business by ensuring that they inspect raw material, components parts, final devices, and packaging to the highest standards.The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4pm & Friday 7:30pm to 1pm (37.5 hours) however the company is exploring a 4-day week on 35 hours without the loss of pay.The Quality Control Inspector duties will include:

  • Use of precision measuring equipment in the measurement of components/products
  • Inspection of raw material, components parts, final devices, and packaging to ensure appropriate quality levels are met
  • Raising non-conformances as required on issues arising in inspection such as non-conforming products or incorrect documentation
  • Identification, containment, and documentation of all defective/non-conforming products.
  • Maintain good working practices ensuring all measurement equipment is calibrated
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve manufacturing issues where appropriate
  • Participation in improvement activities such as continual improvement, corrective action, and customer satisfaction
To be considered for this role, the Quality Control Inspector will need to have previous experience in Quality Control and some experience using metrology measuring equipment. The Quality Control Inspector will also have:
  • GCSE grade 9 to 4 or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Exceptional communication skills
Desirables
  • CMM Experience
  • A-Levels or higher qualification
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485
