QUALITY ENGINEER – SHEET METAL - FABRICATIONLEEDS£30,000 circa**NB this is an afternoon shift 2.15pm – 10pm Monday to Thursday and 11.30-7pm Friday**My client is a superb International manufacturer, providing a complete solution, design, production and assemble service, for their customers with detailed engineered components. Their modern machining facility houses some of the best CNC machines in the UK along with various high-quality production and testing machinery. They carry out work for various sectors and are niche to their market. The company has seen significant continued growth over recent years through continuous investment in new equipment and technology. The company designs and manufactures a leading product for commercial businesses all over the world.The ideal candidate will have sheet metal experience as a Quality Engineer currently a production/engineering environment.A focus on high quality and continuous improvement is essential, as is attention to detail.I ideally need someone that has worked with folding and punching machines. Understands welding processes and can understand drawings and build dimensions.We can look at and engineering manager that has been working in a Fabrication Workshop looking to move into a Quality Role so please do apply.Coaching and building relationships with the manufacturing teams is key for this role. I am looking for someone that has a positive approach and a can-do mindset and has excellent assembly knowledge to help the internal teams.Role DescriptionTo carry out inspection of sheet metal construction casings and specifications, at stages throughout production and finished goods.To continually audit daily work in progress to verify product and process conformity.Carry out stage inspections as per hold points and verify finished goods items.Produce inspection documentation and quality reports.Maintain control of any non-conforming products or returned items until delivered in acceptable form to customer.Inspection of incoming sheet metal from suppliers to ensure that product meets correct specifications (e.g. thickness, galvanized, surface quality).Cross-check details against operator stamps and undertake follow-up discussions with operators to explain error and required corrective/ preventive actions.Produce rework programmes for machining using Radan for reworks.Monitor ASM faults for rework (folding, punching, by operator) and create weekly charts for review..Monitor overproduced parts (count, by weight) and create monthly charts for review by Line Leaders.Manage calibration requirements of measurement equipment (e.g. tapes, rules, squares, micrometres, Vernier callipers) for Coil Plant at prescribed frequency.Undertake visual checks (e.g. surface quality, rivets, brackets, nutserts, etc) of plinth and cases pre-paint; and paint-work finish and insulation of units before despatch to assembly lines.Undertake visual checks and assessment of damaged units and faults created as required and provide ‘pass’/ ‘fail’ assessment (e.g. folding errors, incorrect hole positions, paint/ finish issues, insulation issues, impact damage, etc).Assess performance data for management review, identify and implement corrective actions relating to non-conformity (alongside the Quality Manager).Work closely with the Operations Manager in all aspects of the quality function.Take part in the audit, maintenance and development of quality systems, procedures and external approvals.Ensure all quality documentation are recorded and kept maintained and up to date.Analysis and reporting of quality measures and issues.Identify, investigate and resolve all Quality issues from customers and internal checks.Ensure logistics of products are acceptable to quality standards, liaising with manufacturing, sales and despatch if schedules are disrupted.Visit customer with any quality related issues.Take part in the identification, segregation and resolution of defective products.Salary offered is dependent on experience £30,000 - £32,000 with excellent company benefits and free parkingIf you feel you have the skills required to excel in this role, I look forward to reviewing your application.Lisa FarrRegional Permanents Consultant – YorkshireInteraction Recruitment plcT:01138662042 Hot 100 Winner - Uks Number 1 General RecruiterPlease add me to your Linkedin
