Job Description

Your new roleAn exciting opportunity for a Property Acquisition Case Manager to join the Property and Compensation (P&C) division with Major Projects (MP) at National Highways is now available.This role within the Property Acquisition Team supports the teams work in ensuring that the land and rights required for the scheme are acquired and that related costs are paid promptly and appropriately in accordance with legislation, policy and the compensationcode.This role will be contractually based from Leeds, however National Highways does support flexible working and therefore will consider applications from across England.What youll be leading on

  1. Liaise with the companys legal and valuation suppliers to acquire land and rights that are needed to improve or maintain the Network.
  2. Accurately maintain the companys property records, financial and other administrative records, using the companys systems; to comply with statutory and internal procedures, and inform effective decision making.
  3. Manage work to meet objectives, ensuring that the relevant law, policies and procedures are followed.
  4. Liaise with colleagues and customers, building effective relationships to ensure that claimants and affected land owners receive a good customer service.
  5. Collate and analyse relevant information to inform effective decision making.
To be successful youll need
  • An awareness of how Major (Road) Projects are built and the effect those projects will have on land owners and local businesses.
  • Good understanding of the processes and procedures that govern an area of work.
  • The ability to manage your own cases by prioritising and monitoring case progress.
  • The ability to use MS Office software products to enable production/maintenance of a range of complex documents and spreadsheets.
  • The ability to work effectively in an office environment to deliver an efficient customer service and by managing suppliers
