Job Description

Advert – Band 7 Programme Support OfficerThe Programme Support Officer is responsible for supporting the Programme Manager(s) in the successful initiation, planning, design and execution of projects supporting the effective PMO delivery function for NHSE. They will ensure continuous improvement, responsiveness, competent support, monitoring and communication of projects and thereby contributing to the professional standing of the Programme management function across NHSE.Key aspects of this role include:

  • Business Focus
  • Ensuring effective support to the Programme Manager(s) on directorate projects including acting as a point of contact, supporting implementations and providing day to day operational support to the team.
  • Customer Focus
  • Providing a professional and proactive Programme support service for the customer base.
  • Delivery Focus
  • Supporting projects in compliance with agreed project management processes and PMO team procedures.
  • Leadership and Management
  • Actively contributing to the developments of strategies and PMO deliverables.
  • Keeping abreast of developments in new methodologies and implementation in order to follow best practice.
  • Developing a high performing commercial organisation
  • Assisting relevant peers in the planning and execution of system/process testing necessary for new and upgraded systems prior to release in the live environment to ensure continuity of service.
