Job Description

Assistant PlannerMy client, based in Otley has a fantastic opportunity for a Production Planner to join the Production Planning Team and support the Planning Manager. The role offers opportunity to shadow and learn from the Production Manager and there will be a definedroute for progression. The role will assist the Planning Manager to plan and manage both production and materials to meet customer requirements while ensuring inventory levels are kept below required levels and records are accurate.Im looking for someone who has:

  • Good commercial awareness
  • Experience of using an MRP system
  • Excellent use of MS Excel
  • Good decision maker
  • Ability to work accurately, particularly when under pressure
  • A desire to understand requirements from both customer and colleagues
  • Uses their Initiative when approaching new tasks, problem solving and prioritising workload
  • Previous experience of planning in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in SAP would be beneficial but not requirement
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Assist with monthly stock takes
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules in collaboration with Operations.
  • Updating of schedules from daily production figures
  • Ensure Ascman is kept up to date regarding job schedules.
  • Actively participate in Planning meeting.
  • Update and distribute reports as required.
  • Liaise with customer services regarding stock and order enquiries.
  • Assist in accepting customer orders in the system.
  • Organise and schedule outwork to meet customer requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects
  • Any other reasonable task requested by senior management
  • Deputise for Planning manager as required
  • Ready on Time in Full%,Inventory Levels of Raw Materials, WIP and Finished Goods
  • Acceptance of customer orders within set time frame
  • Stock accuracy (from Monthly stock takes)
  • Operations - Ensure clear plans are given for PM1, DDP and Converting in a regular and appropriate time frame
  • Customer Services - Ensure up to date and accurate details are available to allow customer service to provide customers with required updates in a timely fashion.
  • Finance - Provide up to date and accurate stock details.
  • Purchasing - provide accurate requirements of pulp to ensure the correct levels of stock are being purchased and scheduled for delivery
