Your new roleDue to continued growth and investment, Highways England is looking to recruit Procurement Operational Support to join our team in Leeds.Based within the Commercial and Procurement Improvement function you will offer Purchase to Pay advice and support to the business. You will be responsible for providing general support on Procurement policy, procedures and specifically our purchasing systems, including providing professional advice and guidance to drive consistency, efficiency and best practice. You will delivering training and drive improvements relating to Company Purchase to Pay Policy and procedures and will be take a key role in testing and assurance of our systems and procedures to ensure we meet the highest standards of governance.We care about your professional development which is why we are committed to investing in your future. If you’re looking to build a successful career in Procurement apply now!What you’ll be leading on• Responsible for providing general support on Procurement procedures, delivering projects and work streams to time, quality and within budget• Supporting and providing advice on smaller Purchasing requirements (generally up to £10k) ensuring the work is delivered in line with company delegation policy, governance and regulatory requirements• Take responsibility for ensuring that governance is in place for contracts and that there is a consistent approach to protect Highways England• Responsible for the accurate and timely inputting of data and pulling of reports from software to provide useful information where necessary to support projects• Respond to communications and enquiries from internal and external customer with a professional manner to portray the department in the best light• Provide basic training, advice and support to customers enabling them to use the Procurement systems effectively and understand the Procurement processes and rules in use in the company.To be successful• You will have some experience of working within a purchasing/buying role or delivering aspects of the procurement cycle• You will have good knowledge of purchasing related software packages (e.g. Oracle, SAP)• You will have experience of effective partnership working and collaboration with internal customers and the supply chain• You will have the ability to prioritise effectively to manage multiple deadlines.A bit about usThere’s never been a better time to join our Commercial and Procurement team.
