Job Description

Great opportunity for a Procurement Assistant to join StepChange Debt Charity in Leeds.This is a new role created role to support the Procurement Manager in ensuring Value for Money and Social Value from suppliers for the provision of goods and services to the charity.With this role you can enjoy the benefits of hybrid working, combining working from home with some days in our new offices in Leeds City Centre.What you will be doing

  • Manage and continuously update the contracts database, ensuring records are accurate, identifying contracts due to expire and liaising with relevant business streams
  • Manage procurement inbox, escalating necessary items to Procurement Manager and replying in a timely manner to those requesting items or Procurement Information as well as managing day to day procurement activities, raise and issue POs in a timely mannerin line with No PO - No Pay Policy, working closely with the Transactional Team
  • Work with Procurement Manager to monitor suppliers performance, ensure service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met, and drive improvement. Schedule regular review meetings and engage with Operational Owners and Stakeholders.
  • Aid with quarterly drafting of ERCC & ARCC Meeting Papers for Supplier Performance and Risks
  • Take responsibility for smaller contracts like transactional or category 3 & 4 (as defined in the Supplier Management Framework Document) and assist the Procurement Manager with larger contracts when needed.
  • Support the Procurement Manager and Charitys Procurement Strategy promoting value for money (VFM) whilst ensuring policies, procedures and methodologies are followed and adhered to.
  • Working with the Procurement Manager, assist with all formal quotation and tender activities from evaluation to award of contract, preparing documentation and co-ordinating and updating documents ensuring that all materials are up to date and relevant.
  • Manage StepChanges Fleet of Vehicles used by our Relationship Managers and Business Area. Ensuring car policy is adhered to and any new or renewing contracts align to the standards.
What we want from you
  • 5 GCSE at grade C or above
  • Professional and personable with good communication skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office packages including excel. MS Excel skills include but not limited to; pivot tables, vlookups and various other formulas
  • Ability to pick up IT packages and processes quickly - Sage line 50 accounts experience advantageous, but not essential
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work accurately when under pressure and in meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
