Job Description

Preflight Operator / Pre-Production Controller / ArtworkerLocation: LeedsSalary: DOECompany: A leading packaging and graphics agency.Role: Offering a full pre-press service, from initial concept and design, through to completion.

  • The role is handling receipt of incoming artwork file, checking they conform to spec, then uploading to a database.
  • Reviewing artwork provided by customers to check whether it is suitable for production, providing proofs of the work for confirmation that it is acceptable for printing.
  • Managing colour profiles/ checking print proofs to ensure their colour profile is fit for the type of artwork.
  • Communicating with artwork suppliers, printers and internal stakeholders.
  • Pre-flighting artwork.
  • Artworking jobs to a standard suitable for print.
  • Ensuring work complies with Industry/ company standard.
    • Requirements:
  • Experience working within packaging and lables.
  • Confident user of Adobe CS - particularly illustrator and photoshop.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Previous artwork / repro experience - highly desirable but can be trained.
  • Print knowledge is preferred but can be trained.
  • Will need to use MIS system to document incoming artwork files, but this can be trained
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Willingness to learn is essential.
