Purpose -The Planner is responsible for the tender and project programming on assigned proposals and projects and advising the Project Delivery Lead/Project Managers on system and labour requirements to effectively satisfy company and contractual planning and cost obligations.Supervision Exercised: None Received: Direction from the Project Delivery Director (Line Management) When assigned to a project, direction from the relevant Project Delivery Lead or Project Manager. Main Duties & Responsibilities -• To ensure allocated tenders and projects are planned to meet milestones and cost targets. • To attend tender and project meetings as required, leading on planning issues. • To support the Project Managers, Project Delivery Lead and Commissioning Manager in development of programmes to meet their objectives. • To maintain effective liaison between site operations and office planning activities, attending sites as and when required. • To ensure a quality standard of schedule reporting and forecasting for individual projects for both Company and Client Management. • To use effectively all software, techniques and equipment as assigned to individual proposals and projects.• To identify opportunity and risk during the programming process, and to ensure early warning systems exist on individual projects for schedule deviations to be notified at the earliest possible time for remedial action by Project Management. • To assist indeveloping and modifying project planning techniques, with the objective of improving the Project Managers’ ability to control the project programme costs and to manage resources to meet contractual deadlines.• To comply with all Health and Safety responsibilities commensurate with the role, as outlined in the Health and Safety policy. • Any other duties commensurate with the position as may be assigned from time to time. Performance Measures• The successful and effective implementation of company planning and project control systems.• The effective use made by Project Managers and the project team of schedule and early warning systems. • The effectiveness of communication between site and office-based planning activities
