Job Description

PHP / Magento Web Developer - Permanent - Leeds - £32,000-£38,000 + BenefitsWe are looking for a full time PHP/Magento Web Developer with at least 2+ years’ experience working with Magento to join a fast-growing ecommerce business based in Leeds.The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge of PHP and experience of developing both Magento 1 and Magento 2 websites. The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering web projects including frontend and backend development.Preferred experience includes:

  • Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of both Magento 1 & Magento 2
  • Proven commercial experience with PHP (versions 7.0 to 7.4)
  • Experience with JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, HTML, MySQL, OOP
  • Experience with AJAX, JSON, XML
  • Knowledge of API integrations and implementations
  • Understanding of automated deployment tools including staging environments
  • Disciplined best practice in Git workflow including pipelines, branching etc
  • Portfolio demonstrating your skills and experience
    • Key responsibilities:As a PHP / Magento Web Developer, you will have a broad range of duties and responsibilities, including the opportunity to showcase your skills by undertaking:
  • Maintainence of Magento 1 webstore including upgrades, maintenance and patching
  • Development & migration to a Magento 2 store including any custom extensions
  • Developing new ground-breaking functionality & layouts to improve customer experience and increase conversion rates
  • Creating new store fronts (mobile first) for new markets and territories utilising multisite
  • Managing API integrations particularly with our software including ongoing updates
  • Working alongside the existing marketing team to improve UX, CRO, site speed etc.
  • Collaborating with graphic designer to convert designs into themes, templates or pages
