Job Description

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a certified Pega Systems Architect to join the dynamic Tech Services team at StepChange Debt Charity. The right candidate will be able to influence and manage senior stakeholders and contribute to the continuousimprovement of IT applications, architecture and definition of business processes based on business requirements.As a vital part of this dynamic team, you will engage with other technical and business professionals focused on building, maintaining and supporting solution frameworks for the Charity. Responsible for the development and maintenance of Pega applications i.e.the build, configuration and implementation, amongst numerous other aspects of the application development lifecycleWhat you will be doing

  • Build strategic business applications on the Pega platform following the principles of application development on the Pega platform and agreed standards, best practices and processes
  • Work collaboratively with team members to implement, test and document features
  • Partner with business team to develop high quality applications
  • Development of business requirements to produce a fit for purpose and UX compliant solution
  • Discuss and contribute to the applications design and architecture
  • Work collaboratively with other support teams to resolve Pega applications incidents
  • Lock and roll of Pega applications
  • Work closely with the delivery team to ensure requirements are understood and met
  • Collaborate with other developers, system testing and UAT team to ensure the change is delivered as effectively as possible
What we want from youCandidates must have a strong technical and computer science background. System Architects are expected to think independently, but also must value teamwork as they design and develop high quality software in a collaborative settingIdeal candidates will have at least two years experience in a development role in addition to:
  • A Pega System Architect certification
  • B.E/B.Tech degree in Computer Science or similar degree
  • Demonstrable experience in the timely delivery of medium-large scale development programmes/project
  • Solid understanding of, and practical experience with, the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong object-oriented design and development skills
  • Knowledge of and/or willingness to work within Agile-Scrum Methodology
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional team to develop new features
  • Experience working with different JEE technologies (desirable)
