We are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced individual in the post of Quality Lead for the Pathology Clinical Service Unit at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. The post holder will be joining the senior team to support the CSU in the delivery and evolution of our quality service.The Pathology service at LTHT is one of the biggest in the country providing Biochemistry, Haematology Immunology, Cellular Pathology, and Microbiology for the city of Leeds. We are also are regional and super-regional specialist laboratory service for Microbiology specialist Biochemistry (including New Born/Antenatal Screening) and Haematology (including Coagulation), Immunology and Transplant and Cellular Immunology, Histopathology and our Genomics service.The candidate is expected to bring leadership and expertise in the delivery of the quality of service in terms of patient outcomes, to support performance to maintain national and local pathology standards, and maintenance of regulatory and accreditation compliance.We have a programme of significant changes within the CSU, including the relocation of services, the roll out of a new pathology lab system and replacement of instrumentation which the senior team will deliver over the coming years.The candidate must be registered with the HCPC and have extensive post registration experience as a Biomedical Scientist within a relevant speciality. The candidate must hold an MSc, or equivalent, in Biomedical Science or related field and will ideally have experience of quality management and/or governance activities.
