Job Description

PurposeThis is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of the business and have a large impact on the future growth plans. The Operational Tax team are responsible for QI Documentation and Reporting to the IRS (1042-S/1042/1099), FATCA/CRS and ISA reporting to HMRC, and Fulfilment of Regulatory Documents for clients, amongst other operational tax matters. They also provide internal control and oversight on the operational teams in relation to regulatory processes and issues.

  • Preparing, reviewing and submitting various returns and reports, monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Maintaining up to date regulatory knowledge, informing the business of new and changing regulations and working with other departments to implement change as needed.
  • Periodic review of process and procedure around the business to ensure it is compliant with regulations and business policy.
  • Support and advise other areas of the business with any matters related to operational taxes.
  • AccountabilitiesTECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of IRS forms W-8 series and W-9, and the administration of US Persons; associated withholding tax requirements; 1042-S and 1042 reporting; 1099 (DIV/INT and B) reporting.
  • Good understanding of FATCA/CRS reporting and managing changes of circumstance/self-certification.
  • Up to date knowledge of the ISA Manager guidelines and reporting requirements.
  • CORE CAPABILITIES:
  • Ability to independently undertake complex reporting, including liaison with clients, external contacts, public authorities, government and law enforcement agencies.
  • Be the first contact point for risk advice, process guidance and system knowledge to both external and internal customers on financial crime.
  • LEADERSHIP
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external contacts in order to assist in Operational Tax matters. Demonstrate professionalism and integrity with all stakeholders
  • Escalate promptly any identified breaches to tax regulations to the appropriate regulatory body and line manager.
  • Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • The ability to manage large, deadline driven workloads
  • The ability to analyse and problem solve, and a good attention to detail
  • Excellent MS Excel skills, and the ability to pick up new systems and software quickly
