Job Description

As Network Engineer (Network & Telephony) you will be responsible for ensuring that the technologies remain secure, protecting data and users from cyber-attack and unauthorized loss. This role will engage with users, supporting their needs and ensuring thata high quality customer-focused service is delivered.Client DetailsMichael Page are delighted to be partnered with a UK government body to support on the recruitment of multiple technology positions. As part of this recruitment drive, we are currently looking for a Network Operations Engineer to be based in Leeds.DescriptionWhat youll be doingAs Network Engineer (Network & Telephony) you will be responsible for ensuring that the technologies remain secure, protecting data and users from cyber-attack and unauthorized loss. This role will engage with users, supporting their needs and ensuring thata high quality customer-focused service is delivered.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage an Infrastructure Operations (Network & Telephony) team shift
  • Plan, budget and account for the Infrastructure Operations (Network & Telephony) Teams work
  • Continuously monitor and operate network and telephony technologies (on-premise, PaaS, IaaS and SaaS), ensuring technologies remain available 24/7/365, performant to SLAs/OLAs, and delivering a good user and customer experience
  • Lead the proactive identification and resolution of infrastructure issues before they impact the user/customer
  • Lead the delivery of Incident Management, diagnosing the root causes of incidents, developing work arounds and fixes, to return infrastructure and users to an operational condition
  • Lead the delivery of Problem Management, diagnosing root causes of problems, prioritising maintenance activity and developing fixes
ProfileKey Skills & Experience:
  • Experience of leading engineering teams
  • Proven experience with WAN and LAN switches (Meraki), Wireless Access Points (Meraki), firewalls (Cisco and Palo Alto), Load-balancing (Citrix Netscaler), Virtual Private Network (VPN), VOIP telephony and contact centre and collaboration technologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
