Job Description

Montessori Early Years PractitionerPerson specification:As our ideal nursery practitioner, you will be flexible and creative with strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. You will have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and be passionate about child development. Ideallyfor this role you will hold a Level 3 Early Years and Childcare qualifications.Key Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Montessori approach is desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS are essential.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted guidelines and Welfare requirements is essential.
  • A detailed understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection is essential.
  • Considerable relevant experience in the age range 2 - 5 years is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the key person systems and record-keeping is desirable.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children and their parents.
  • Ability to communicate and work in partnership with families and carers.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration qualities.
  • Good written and verbal skills for report writing, maintaining child records, and providing feedback to parents/carers and colleagues
Key responsibilities:You will be a key person to a specific group of children and be responsible for liaising with parents on all aspects of their childs care and development. This position involves monitoring childrens development, and progression and planning their nextsteps.Purpose of role
  • To be responsible for the planning and delivery of an inclusive Montessori or EYFS curriculum suitable to meet the childrens individual needs.
  • To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, and social care and education for the children.
  • To implement the Early Years Foundation Stage and ensure all the childrens individual needs are met and all areas of development are encouraged through play.
  • To observe and assess childrens development and keep an accurate record of their achievements.
  • To tidy and clean the site regularly
Qualifications and Documentations:
  • Level 3 Childcare qualification is essential, and QTS is desirable.
  • Montessori Early Childhood Teaching Diploma is desirable
  • Safeguarding training is desirable
  • Updated Enhanced DBS is desirable
