Job Description

Mobile/Static Plant EngineerFull-time: Monday - FridayHours: 7AM - 5PMThe role is to undertake maintenance and reactive activity, to a wide range of Mechanical and Electrical equipment including but not limited to machine upgrades, general plant maintenance and new building projects.Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and repair of heavy static and recycling mobile plant, bulk material handling, sizing and grading equipment
  • Fault finding on hydraulic and pneumatic systems including pumps, rams, and control valves
  • Ensure that all necessary spare parts, materials and equipment are available
  • Electrical and mechanical proactive and reactive maintenance
  • To work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption
  • Action any repairs and ensure that all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised
  • To investigate and establish causes of all breakdowns and damages
  • To provide technical expertise for Electrical and Mechanical maintenance of plant equipment
  • To abide by & promote Health & Safety, ensuring all approved Company safety policies & processes and other relevant legislation is followed
  • To carry out daily checks in and around the workshop areas daily/weekly/monthly in accordance to company policy
  • To ensure work areas are always kept clear and that unused or waste material are returned to stores or properly disposed of at all times
  • To ensure that tools required for tasks are kept in good condition and that all defects are reported immediately
  • To abide by & promote Health & Safety, ensuring all approved policies & processes are followed
  • To perform other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require
Qualifications
  • City & Guild or NVQ level 3 or equivalent withinElectrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations or equivalent work related experience
Skills/Experience
  • Experience of fault finding and use of Programmable Logic Control (PLCs)
  • Experience of working within a heavy industrial/automated environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to demonstrate awareness of Health & Safety in the workplace (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Electrical Engineering: 1 year (required)
