Manufacturing Futures is looking for an experienced Metallurgist to join a growing and dynamic business based in West Yorkshire. In this role, you will be responsible for creating material and energy balances for extractive metallurgical processes in avery hands on role. Metallurgist / Chemical Engineer / Furnace Operator / PyrometallurgyIn addition, the post holder will take direct responsibility for the delivery of mid-sized research and development projects to generate new processes and technical understanding of the smelting and refining processes that actively translate into commercialvalue. Key responsibilities: Willing to do hands on Metallurgy Ability to manage R&D ProjectsInnovation and creativity to deliver business objectivesIdentify key technical work required for business development and improvement and lead the projects through to completionGenerate and review project documents generated by wider teamsCarry out commissioning work on new and existing plantDevelop and improve pyrometallurgical, hydrometallurgical, thermal and concentration processes in conjunction with customers, internal departments and external technology suppliersMonitor and analyse operational processes and data, supporting resolution of issues, participating in root cause analysis of incidents that occur within the Brimsdown siteCarry out appropriate risk assessments (Risk, COSHH, Manual Handling, etc) for the development workProvide technical expertise including developing process flow diagrams, conducting trials on new equipment and collecting data for designDemonstrate leadership in EHS and contributes to all required aspects of safety reviews within the business Metallurgist / Chemical Engineer / Furnace Operator / PyrometallurgyQualifications:A Degree (Masters preferably) in Metallurgical Engineering or relevant Science discipline with extensive hands on practical, experienceExcellent project management skills and an ability to work in an environment that necessitates an agile approach to project deliveryExperience supervising and coaching a technical team and aligning your outputs to business initiativesIf this sounds like you click apply now!
