Mechanical Design Engineer (Oil & Gas)Leeds, United KingdomHighly Competitive Salary + Bonus + Flexible Working + Pension + Healthcare + Other Company BenefitsJob Summary: This is a Mechanical Design Engineer position offering an opportunity for someone without prior Oil & Gas experience to join a world-class and industry leading business offering complete product training, unrivalled career development and the chance to developskills in a new industry.Working with the Surface Engineering Team located in Leeds, your main responsibilities will include:

  • The Design and development of Wellhead and Xmas Tree system incorporating Running Tools to meet customer requirements. Development of the entire system including running sequences and interface requirements is required.
  • Verification of work performed by other engineers to ensure output is functionally correct and meets all purchase order requirements and specified requirements.
  • The preparation of detailed technical drawings and layouts plus operating procedures.
  • Working closely with internal and external customers analysing their requirements and the development of design concepts which satisfy the customers requirements and uphold the standards of the companys functionality and quality.
  • The support of shop floor activities with respect to the evaluation of manufacturing non-conformances may be required periodically.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering or suitable alternative qualification.
  • Strong Inventor and AutoCAD skills.
  • FEA and calculation experience with ANSYS or similar software knowledge
  • Ability to analyse and solve complex technical problems to provide cost effective design solutions.
  • Have a history of product design and development in the mechanical engineering field.
  • Currently operating (or in the immediate past) in a similar role.
  • Be able to provide evidence of technical ability and concept to market achievements.
  • Be a strong team player.
