Mechanical Design Engineer - Manufacturing & Engineering - Leeds - Up to £50,000 About the company Our UK based client is as a global exporter and market leader for over 200 years. Due to continued growth in our clients business a rewarding opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and energetic team in within their Engineering department, as a MechanicalDesign Engineer.Mechanical Design Engineer - The Rewards * Salary up to £50,000 * Re-location package available* 25 days annual leave + bank holidays* Company Sick Pay* Healthcare Mechanical Design Engineer - Requirements* Experience in a similar role, and experience in thermal design is essential.* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar/ relevant subject* Educated to minimum of degree level, and should hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar and relevant.* It would be advantageous for the candidate to have knowledge of pressure vessels (ideally in industrial/ utility boilers), design and design codes, mechanical/ structural and steel design, including but not limited to lifting lug calculations, wind-loadingcalculations, seismic calculations, and structural calculations. * Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to adapt to customer, colleague and stakeholder needs* High level of attention to detail, priding yourself on meticulous accuracy* Driven to deliver and works well under pressure* SolidWorks experience preferable although not essential. Must be able to read, interpret and produce 3D drawings* Understanding of design and manufacturing standards* Excellent organisation skills and ability to motivate and organise others* Understanding of controls and instrumentation in a manufacturing environment* The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a can-do attitude* Knowledge of codes: EN12952, EN13445, ASME I, ASME VIII Div 1, PD5500, PEDMechanical Design Engineer - Responsibilities* Provide high quality and accurate thermal and mechanical designs for all company products with reference to the companys engineering guidance, design codes and customer specifications etc (using our quality system parameters - including relevant PDs andOPs)* Generate conceptual design documents for drawing office use, to build a complete package of drawings* Generate accurate calculations and information to notified bodies and other qualification and inspection organisations* Work in close collaboration with our drawing office, offering support in reviewing and producing drawings* Constantly look to optimise design - so that customer requirements are met/exceeded* Manage customer relationships and communicate effectively with customers* Work closely with internal stakeholders such as the sales and projects departments, in prioritising and planning work commitments* Maintain company design software, engineering processes, and calculation methods in full compliance with the latest design codesAbout UsDetail2Recruitment acts as an employment agency in respect of this position.
