Master Data Lead

Job Description

JOB PURPOSETo lead the Master Data function, day-to-day management of all master data across all systems and processes supporting our Supply Chain, Logistics, R&D and Procurement functions.Lead a team of Master Data Specialists, ensuring they are supported, developed, and have all the resources required to enable them to perform their responsibilities in line with expectations.JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fully understand systems, processes and tools that rely on accurate master data to operate effectively and efficiently.
• Support all requirements to ensure accurate, timely and compliant Master data creation, maintenance, and related activities in SAP and wider interrelated systems.
• Master Data maintenance and Right First Time Code creation/ change/ extension including all pre-checks - evaluation of correct parameters and data sets to raise a compliant and error free request and set-up of related data such as BOM, Source lists, T-lanes,etc., in SAP.
• Provide SCM Data support for projects: for e.g.: source changes/network changes/ product launches, business deals/ ERP implementations.
• Ensure appropriate classification of data and associated controls to mitigate risk.
• Manage the coordination and ownership of master data activities across separate departments. Liaising with the Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics and Procurement functions throughout the process.
• Provide support to the global data and business process owners and wider business for query resolution, special projects, enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to all Master Data KPIs and regularly validate that they are still fit for purpose.
• Update the critical business master data tracker weekly, to ensure all stakeholders have access to an accurate and reliable source of tracking throughout the processes.
• Reporting within Power BI, tracking within Excel and process delivery utilising the Form, Planner, Automate and Teams functions.
• Lead a team of Master Data Specialists, ensuring they are supported, developed, and have all the resources required to enable them to perform their responsibilities in line with expectations.
• Carry out periodic maintenance for data, such as cleansing to rid the system of old, unused data or duplicate data.
• Maintain and improve the strategy for master data management and roll out best practice cross the master data function and to wider teams.
• Lead the business in respect to master data on projects relating to data migration or systems which impact master data delivery.

REQUIREMENTS

• We are looking for a Data expert who has excellent attention to detail, is systems-savvy and willing to implement and maintain the best MD.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skill set and Power BI.
• Technical and business knowledge to solve problems, execute data analysis and data cleansing processes.
• Previous experience in handling data management within an ERP system.
• Understanding of modern data management concepts and data quality approaches, tools, techniques, vendor landscape, and best practice.
• Ability to develop detailed process plans.
• Experience in managing stakeholders and continuous improvement.
