Job Description

Learning Manager – Secondary English

  • Job Type: Full-time, Term Time
  • Location: Leeds
  • Salary: £100 per day
We are seeking a Learning Manager to work under the guidance of teaching staff in the English department at one of our client schools in Leeds. Implementing work programmes with individuals or groups, and supervising classes during short-term teacher absences.The role is split evenly between cover supervision and administrative support, with a strong emphasis on maintaining order and assisting students with their tasks. Day to Day of the role:
  • Establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom.
  • Support students consistently, recognising and responding to their individual needs.
  • Encourage students to interact and work cooperatively, engaging them in activities.
  • Provide feedback to students on progress and achievement.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create an appropriate learning environment and assist in lesson planning.
  • Monitor and evaluate students’ responses to learning activities and provide objective feedback to teachers.
  • Maintain and update records as agreed with the teacher and contribute to system reviews as requested.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficient in using ICT and other technology (e.g., iPads, photocopiers) to support learning.
  • Full working knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice, and awareness of relevant legislation.
  • Good understanding of the national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies.
  • Insight into the principles of learning processes and the ability to self-evaluate learning needs.
  • Actively seek learning opportunities and demonstrate a commitment to professional development.
