Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a Learning and Development Team Leader to join the People and Culture team at StepChange Debt Charity in Leeds. Responsible for the planning, resourcing, and implementation of the organisations Learning & Development andEngagement agendaWhere youll work:We operate a hybrid working model combining remote working with some days in our new Leeds city centre office.What youll be doing:Work closely with the Learning & Development Manager to support the planning and implementation of the organisations Learning & Development agenda by:

  • Line managing a team of Learning & Development Specialists responsible for the design and delivery of training across the charity
  • Resourcing and developing competence within a multi-skilled Learning & Development team to deliver measurable quality outputs in line with a Training & Competency Framework
  • Defining, implementing, and managing the process to keep all learning materials up to date and fit for purpose, attending project meetings as and when required to understand upcoming changes and how this will affect training content and delivery plans
  • Building, developing, and maintaining a strong and effective working partnership with all peer Team Leaders to ensure a collaborative and joined up approach across the full span of responsibilities
  • Demonstrating L&D thought leadership and influencing stakeholders to adopt new and innovative approaches aligned to learning needs
  • Ensuring the performance cycle is planned and delivered to support robust and effective performance management
  • Designing and delivering effective leadership/development interventions to improve capability across the organisation and identify bespoke needs for identified individuals
  • Delivering Graduate requirements as agreed with Director of People & Culture and the L&D Manager, through an effective recruitment campaign and quality talent identification, management of the two-year programme, and associated development programme
  • Working with Recruitment and Operational Management to ensure all Academy learning aligns to Operational plans, and resource is flexed accordingly
  • Working effectively with all stakeholder groups to ensure a timely response to changing needs and requirements across the organisation
  • Working closely with the Digital Learning Team Leader to continuously review and improve learning methodologies in line with digital first strategy
  • Planning and delivering all activity in line with agreed budgetary constraints
  • Ensuring an external focus is maintained across the L&D and engagement agenda to ensure delivery of innovative, blended, digital first solutions
What youll bring:
  • Relevant experience in Learning & Development, Talent and Engagement
  • Substantial experience of managing and leading a large team
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of working with Training & Competency Schemes
  • Experience of managing learning & development projects
  • Background in L&D delivery and design and the ability to coach and develop these skills in others
  • Build, develop, and retain strong relationships across both departments and external bodies and partners
  • Keep abreast of current and evolving issues, initiatives, and changes across the Debt Advice sector
  • Degree equivalent level qualified
Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 depending on experienceThe rewards:
