Our client requires a Lead SQL DBA based in Leeds/Remote.Lead DBA accountable for SQL database eco systems and data structures (Multi-Terabyte OLTP, staging, warehouse, etc..) through proactive management and support of a diverse application, integration and reporting estate with efficient and timely reporting servicesand data integration requirements. Role must ensure that all SQL databases are resilient, performant and operating within established service levels whilst working alongside and supporting the other members of the data team.Extremely proficient in SQL, able to operate as a SQL Subject Mater Expert and Leader within a diverse engineering and analytics group. Very familiar with operating highly resilient and available SQL databases on-prem and in Public Cloud (Azure). Responsibilities* Maintain and manage an estate of 50+ on-prem and Azure IaaS and PaaS SQL databases ensuring high levels of availability and resilience.* Support the data team with BAU queries across all environments and the implementation of future solutions* Implementation and support of database failover processes and switchover activities* Design, implementation and ongoing support of new and existing databases and associated ETL processes across multiple platforms and applications* Ownership of Database backup, recoveries and environment refreshes including the fixing of database corruption and associated issues* Implementing and administering basic and advanced database replication* Design & support of security policy and audit plan* Ownership and tight management of database access control and privileged access* Proactive identification of potential issues to support continuous service improvements on performance related issues like high CPU utilization, application performance, high memory utilization, application tuning and SQL query tuningPlease forward C.Vs in the first instance.
