Advert for Lead Nurse Patient Flow and Workforce DevelopmentThe Adult Critical Care Clinical Service Unit (CSU) is pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our senior nurse team at Band 8a. A full time Lead Nurse for Patient Flow and Workforce Development is required to lead operational management of the critical care patient flow team and support the Unit Matrons and their nursing teams in developing the workforce across the CSU on the five general and specialist HDU and ICU’s at Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s Hospitals.We are looking for an innovative and dynamic individual, ideally with a critical care background and evidence of wider experience at a senior nurse level. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing complex workloads and areas. You will provide direct line management to a Band 7 and a number of Band 6 nurses to help deliver the trust and CSUs agenda’s and vision to be #OutstandingCriticalCare.You will work closely with Matrons, Lead Nurses and the Divisional Triumvirate to achieve the Trust and Divisional objectives. The role offers many opportunities for growth and developing new ways of working. The successful applicant will lead the patient flow team to build upon and continually improve quality, safety and patient experience and will lead and co-ordinate the CSUs recruitment and workforce strategy.The right candidate will work closely with the Head of Nursing in ensuring that all key quality indicators are delivered on and help to ensure that the units are financially sustainable. The post holder will adopt a highly visible and accessible approach; lead by example and empower the team to maintain patient safety and improve patient care and throughput. In this role you will work closely with the Education and Leadership workstreams to support and develop workforce transformation to deliver future services and care pathways and identify service transformation opportunities, which also requires a smooth and solid working relationship with the CSU’s Clinical Director and General Manager.Its an exciting time for the CSU as we are currently working with our corporate colleagues in looking at how critical care will contribute to the future of the proposed rebuild on the LGI site.
