Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Lead Infrastructure Engineer based at our site in Leeds City Centre office. A key part of this role is to deliver both day to day and strategic management of the charity’s technical infrastructure ensuring appropriate or agreed levels of capacity, availability, and performance are delivered. This role will play a key part in our future success.What you will be doingYou will play a key role in identifying and understanding key drivers of future change ensuring the IT requirements align with the strategy and long-term plans of the charity. You will be responsible for the charity’s technical infrastructure and technical guidance and visible leadership within the function for: network, telephony, desktop estate and other hardware, server infrastructure, data storage, technical disaster recovery and 3rd party supplier escalation and service management.Key accountabilities

  • Promote a team spirit and work ethic that motivates team members as well as increasing productivity and quality
  • Champion the long-term benefits of strategic change that supports improved flexibility, scalability, simplicity, and speed of change
  • Use knowledge and experience to influence and shape the technology end-to-end solution and design
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the charity’s priorities and work closely with the Head of Service Management, the Technology Services leadership team and Strategic Development & Change function in order to determine the IT roadmap
  • Manage and maintain network and infrastructure services including support and maintenance of file, e-mail, application, and database servers
  • Support and maintain organisations telephone infrastructure, including configuration of contact centre software
    • Experience and knowledgeYou’ll have a demonstrable passion for Infrastructure Engineering, with the following skills or strong experience in:
  • Office365 (essential)
  • Azure (essential)
  • Windows Server 2008/2016
  • Active Directory
  • MS Exchange 2010+
  • VMware ESX/Vsphere
  • LAN/WAN
  • Load Balancing
  • Security (anti-virus, firewalls, access control, etc.)
  • Windows 7/10
  • experienced at troubleshooting 3rd line technical issues
  • at least 3 years infrastructure experience
  • ITIL Foundation (desirable)
    • Skills and abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to take full ownership of issues
  • Diplomatic but assertive and determined to see the job through
