Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a Junior Project Manager to join the Tech Services department at StepChange Debt Charity in Leeds. As a Junior PM, you will manage smaller scale Change projects and provide support to Project and Programme Managers to deliverlarge and complex projects within timescales. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has started their career in project management and is looking to progress their career within a well-established Change management team.Where youll workThis role is based in our new Leeds city centre office, with the occasional opportunity to work from home.What you will be doing

  • Lead change projects and workstreams throughout the change lifecycle, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, cost, quality and timescales, effectively managing conflicting deadlines and priorities with multiple stakeholders
  • Define and deliver any/all stages of the project life cycle and obtain acceptance by encouraging ownership to the approach from all stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to the change management framework across all project activities and make recommendations to the frameworks ongoing development
  • Identify key project stakeholders and develop appropriate stakeholder management plans
  • Work collaboratively with Programme/Project Manager, sponsor and other colleagues to ensure robust understanding of project purpose/value and ensure that benefits can be realised
  • Produce and maintain project management deliverables including the project plan, action trackers, resource forecast, budget tracker, RAIDD logs, contingency plans, etc.
  • Track progress against the project plan and assist with implementing strategies to recover time or budget slippage, as required, maintaining adherence to change controls
  • Manage and direct delivery from third party providers wherever the project/workstream requires it
  • Support the use of appropriate methods to estimate timescales, effort and costs for the project, assisting the Programme/Project Manager to define clear roles and responsibilities for all project resources.
  • Monitor, manage and report project status and progress appropriately to stakeholders via status reporting, managing Working Groups as required.
  • Implement the required project governance and use this to structure escalation, resolution and management of issues
What youll bring
  • Good knowledge of change management principles and software development lifecycle
  • Some experience of working within a project / matrix management environment.
  • High level appreciation of agile methodologies
  • Experience of using project planning tools, preferably MS Office suite
  • Some experience of implementing change within organisations
Salary: £31,300The rewards:
