Job Description

Due to strong trade over the last 12 months they are now looking to expand their Buying & Merchandise team. You will assist the Buyer in the performance of their duties, including the creation and maintenance of category buying plans, having regular contactwith suppliers, managing the data input for the critical paths and liaising with other internal departments where necessary.Client DetailsA fantastic opportunity for a Junior Buyer - Homeware to join an Ecommerce Homeware retailer in the Leeds area. The business sells several different products for the home. They have been featured in GQ, Home & Garden to name a few.Description

  • Work with the Buyer to source, develop and grow the product range for sale across the business.
  • Managing the day to day range development including sample development and selection, photography, data collation and set live processes.
  • Gain market/product awareness and competitor analysis, particularly of the online marketHelp the Buyer to ensure Marketing are correctly briefed regarding new items and that content is accurate
  • Work with the content team to approve and launch new items onsite.
  • Deliver daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Build strong and sustainable supplier relations, managing warehouse stock, delivery schedules and product returns.
  • Successfully negotiate prices to ensure to hit sales and margin budgetOrganise and maintain a sample tracker for inbound product samplesLiaise with the QA Department to ensure that quality is always maintainedHave the opportunity to independently manage your own product range with accountability for its performance against set financial targetsAttend UK and international trade shows, depending on business requirements, with the Buyer
  • Support and manage Product/ Buying Assistants in the business.
Profile
  • At least 3 years experience of working in a buying function
  • A degree (or equivalent)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills
  • The ability to build rapport and relationships with suppliers and colleagues
  • The ability to understand and react to the changes in demand, supply and logistics
  • Strong administrative skills and the ability to work independently
  • Critical path workflow and management skills
