Job Description

Our Client is a Chemical Supplier to the UK Manufacturing Industry. They are now seeking an International Trade Assistant (Import / Export Operations). This position will be office based in Leeds and is a full-time permanent role.Key Responsibilities

  • Based in Leeds, our Client offers its business partners a wide range of products and value added services, such as filling, mixing and blending, as well as technical support and services for various industries within the life science, environmental and material science sectors
  • Working as part of a team you will provide support to all regions of the UK and Ireland in their daily import and export operations (subject to UK, Regional and local Covid restrictions)
  • You will work closely with site / operational colleagues and liaise frequently with Hauliers and Customs agents to ensure the business remains fully compliant with HMRC guidelines whilst also working to meet our strict supply chain targets.
  • Your will analyse and confirm product specifications, tariff classifications and Incoterms for imports and exports
  • You will also maintain the product database (tariff code population) and supplier declarations of origin.
    • Qualifications and ExperienceActing as part of a team of International Trade Advisors, you should be an accomplished import / export professional, who can demonstrate:
  • Proven Incoterms and commercial trading experience with knowledge of the CHIEF systems well as dealing with Customs Agents
  • Harmonized tariff system knowledge and ability to learn/apply detailed complex regulations
  • Knowledge of International Rules of Trade for Excise/Controlled Goods would be an advantage
  • First class communication and relationship skills and a professional manner
