Job Description

Key Account ManagerThe Q Solutions Key Account Manager (‘KAM’) will be responsible for the ongoing performance and growth of a key broker account which has a national presence across the UK. The KAM will spend time in the broker branches building relationships and productawareness, discussing performance, and developing new business opportunities. In addition, the KAM will manage a pipeline of new business opportunities both through in-person conversations and workshops, and remotely via telephone engagement.You will be personable, possessing a strong technical understanding of commercial insurance with the ability to build strong broker relations and generate new business.You’re joining an exciting new business within Q Underwriting, Q Solutions; you’ll be a key part of the Q Solutions story and will be recognised for your contribution to this new venture.   • Build and maintain a broad range of relationships across the key account.
  • Build awareness of product and propositions across the key account and work with the dedicated marketing function to develop communications to support your contact strategy.
  • Generate new business opportunities across the key account.
  • Take ownership of new business pipelining activity including identifying suitable risks from pipeline data, engaging early with the owner of the risk face-to-face or by telephone, and developing the opportunity to quote.
  • Manage service and support the performance of existing business.
  • Take responsibility for any broker issues and manage through to satisfactory outcome.
  • Build solid relationships with key teams within Q Solutions, Q Underwriting and PIB
  • Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings,and the impact of new technology.
Experience:
  • Previous Sales or Account Management Experience in the Insurance industry
  • Knowledge of Commercial Insurance Products
  • Strong working knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Excel
  • Ability to work autonomously, self-motivation and discipline.
  • Very strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with senior managers and other key internal and external stakeholders.
  • High impact presentation skills, with an attention to detail
  • Planning, organising, and managing skills, and ability to prioritise.
  • Sharp and attentive.
  • Resilient
  • A strong team player who is confident in their ability and willing to support others.
