Job Description

Leeds, UKPermanentHSE ManagerThe role of Group Head of Health and Safety will include:

  • Developing and managing policy and procedures across a range of Health and Safety topics
  • Conducting and recording accident investigations of significant events and developing lessons learned plans
  • Responding to requests for information from across the business and providing support to senior managers and directors
  • Managing interaction with external enforcing authorities such as the HSE and Local Authorities
  • Contributing to wider Corporate Services initiatives and programmes, such as SSIPs and SEDEX compliance.
  • Managing a team of Health and Safety appointed persons and Health and Safety Trainers and supporting the teams learning and development
    • Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience working in a similar industry
  • Experience working in an organisation with a safety management system to ISO 45001
  • Experience working in a large organisation with multiple business streams
  • Previous experience managing a team
  • A highly experienced, knowledgeable HSE lead, with extensive experience in strategic Health and Safety, Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance
  • A qualification in occupational health and safety e.g. NEBOSH, NVQ5, NCRQ (Diploma level) as a minimum educational attainment
  • Expertise on UK HSE regulations and good knowledge of relevant EU Regulations. Familiarity with The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 an advantage
  • Real leadership skills and a collaborative personality, able to build relationships with key stakeholders within the business
  • Proven experience of managing change and the gravitas to lead others through change
  • Superb communication and influencing skills
